If you have a home landscape that you are not exactly proud of, you might be able to cash in soon. From now until April 30, DIY Network is accepting video and photo submissions for its fifth annual America’s Most Desperate Landscape contest.
The goal of the contest is pretty self-explanatory: DIY is looking for the worst landscape in the country so that it can send in a team of experts to completely overhaul the desperate lot. The landscaping team will focus on all aspects off landscape design, including trees and shrubbery, walkways, water, gardens, lawns, and more.
Judging by past years’ winners, there are some real doozies out there in serious need of a makeover. This year, the makeover will be worth up to $25,000, so the potential for a massive renovation is high. It is entirely possible that the lucky winner will go from having America’s most deplorable landscape to one of the most enviable landscapes.
DIY Network is using this year’s contest to kick-start its spring landscaping lineup. Programs on the lineup include the all-new Yardcore, as well as familiar staples like Yard Crashers, Turf War, Indoors Out and King of Dirt.
